Hello!

I started this blog to upload my own photos so that i could participate in other photo blogs to submit to. Life has gotten in the way, as it does sometimes.

I like taking photos of a lot of things I find interesting.. mostly flowers. I also have another blog "Phlower Power" to show off my flower photos.

The Photo Blogs I submit to are in the sidebar. I hope I've piqued your interest.

Thanks for stopping by........

Ceiling Fans and Chandelier

We've started our Winter projects. First we borrowed some scaffolding and hauled it home and put it together in our living room. We have a cathedral ceiling.. not vaulted, CATHEDRAL. It's 20ft. high at the peak.
Our fans quit working. They were only 20 years old... funny they both quit working at the same time... They each must have had equal amounts of dust in them.  We finished that. I should say Larry got 'er done. I held my breath.
The scaffolding is 29" wide and we had to have 3 skinny sections high. It's scary up there and it wiggles! It's like walking on a suspension bridge. Been there, done that, I don't need to do it again.
Larry is changing out the bare bulb we had for a light to a chandelier as I type. I'm acting gopher for this job. All he had to do at the top was change out the chain and weave the cord through it. Then he came down to the bottom scaffold to install the 5 light chandelier.  It's all done with bulbs in and one bulb just burned out! They were old, we've had them since we bought the light. Besides, we're thinking we need less wattage. It's awful bright in here. A dimmer switch would be nice.........

Well, here's some pics of the fans and the bare bulb... the before the chandelier pic.

Transportation ~ Bloggers Commuity Photo Challenge

The latest Bloggers Community Photo Challenge is Transportation

This is our dead tractor. It died while tilling a field.  We got it fixed, we're happy, but our garden isn't planted yet!

Reviewing a Photo Book

I love Photo Books. They are Photographer's Bliss. They're an elegant way to display your digital photos, besides a slideshow online or on a DVD to show on TV. The latter sounds too much like home movies/slides.  A book you can just place on the coffee table and guests can view them at will. If you get too many, start a library, or you could alternate a book or two once in a while on the coffee table.

I made a Photo Book. It wasn't exactly fun, but I enjoyed it. I like the final results more than the process.  Lar and I went on a little vacation up north to Kabetogama Lake. It was a perfect opportunity to try it out.  I have 40 pages of multiple photos in a 8x10 book. I like it better than scrap-booking. I never was one for that. I'm a minimalist, when it comes to photo scrape books. I don't like all that clutter. And with building your own photo book online, you can do it your way.

The next one I make will be of the Shute Bear Sanctuary. (Up-Nort)
