We've started our Winter projects. First we borrowed some scaffolding and hauled it home and put it together in our living room. We have a cathedral ceiling.. not vaulted, CATHEDRAL. It's 20ft. high at the peak.
Our fans quit working. They were only 20 years old... funny they both quit working at the same time... They each must have had equal amounts of dust in them. We finished that. I should say Larry got 'er done. I held my breath.
The scaffolding is 29" wide and we had to have 3 skinny sections high. It's scary up there and it wiggles! It's like walking on a suspension bridge. Been there, done that, I don't need to do it again.
Larry is changing out the bare bulb we had for a light to a chandelier as I type. I'm acting gopher for this job. All he had to do at the top was change out the chain and weave the cord through it. Then he came down to the bottom scaffold to install the 5 light chandelier. It's all done with bulbs in and one bulb just burned out! They were old, we've had them since we bought the light. Besides, we're thinking we need less wattage. It's awful bright in here. A dimmer switch would be nice.........
Well, here's some pics of the fans and the bare bulb... the before the chandelier pic.

20 feet at the peak? Wow, those are some high ceilings! I know ceiling fans are great for ventilating open spaces, but I didn't know they could still work well enough from that height.
ReplyDeleteAny fan can disturb the air well enough to circulate through the whole house regardless of the amount of space. Our two fans are big enough for the size of the space.
